The limit is hardcoded, so you cannot change it with modifying any rules or settings files. But do you really need more than 10 specific techs for each nation? You shouldn't be adding any techs that all nations have this way. There's global init techs (also limited to 10 entries) for techs that all ...

The big problem is that there's not much difference in difficulty of different levels. Soon after you learn the tricks to beat the easiest level, even hardest level is not giving any challenge. Would it be possible to modify the game so that one could study an era in far more detail? Core mechanics of the game are what they are, so you cannot have more detailed view like different currencies for different nations, for example. On the old server machine we had ftp server with possibility of anonymous uploads. Given that none of us has too much time in our hands to things like monitoring what would happen on such a server, I'm afraid that's not going to come back any time soon. I did a little debugging to see what causes the AI Leaders to go out and take a fatal risk. The unit_data->task was either None or Defend home, and, rarely, recover. Defend home was also the state of the enemy hordes that swept against my borders.. A rather aggressive way to "defend home"...

When civil war occurs, the new AI plaer does not have a GameLoss figure. If someone could give me a hint on where to start I would like to try fixing it. This is certainly not as simple question as you seem to think. What's you use-case? Why should new player have GameLoss unit? There's no new unit...
