Freeciv-proper has stable savegame formats for each version, and backward compatibility between these is guaranteed. Freeciv-2.6 will be able to load freeciv-2.5 saves, and freeciv-3.0 will be able to load freeciv-2.6 saves (as well as freeciv-2.5, freeciv-2.4, and freeciv-2.3 saves). Freeciv-web on...

As freeciv-web does not use stable freeciv savegame formats, between which conversions would work, but follows development version with frequent compatibility breaks, a year old savegame would be incompatible anyway.

Rulesets that are part of freeciv distribution are kept in sync with the development. Rulesets available as modpacks are only occasionally compatible with current development.

Attack_Bonus effect type: patch #7894
This effect type can be used to give attack bonus when specific player attacks. That was not possible with negative Defend_Bonus as its player requirements are about defending player.

I'm struggling with irrigation (and farmland) stuff. Why is extrastyle of those changed from "Cardinals" to "River"? Do they have delta to ocean like rivers do?
