I thought I had it somewhere...Once I made a tiny tileset for that purpose. That is, playing with the map generator settings. One could see the whole world in one glance.
Not on my computer.
EDIT: Found it. But it was for 2.2.x and iso-hex topology.

Would help if that someone out there knew what kind of images or styles do you need...
..but I think everything you need to know is here.
Try the demo, it's fun. I would recommend against using a totally customised style, though. It can be a pain when updating the board SW.
