I dunno, it seems like what parts you build on a spaceship should affect how long it takes to get there and the chances of success or something... Edit: In civ1, this DID change how long it takes to get there. The 'success chance' apparently just basically tells you what percentage of your colonists...

Spent the day getting an initial version of stubspace done between other things (Because it's too tedious all at once), it's up on the second post in the thread now. It's rough, but it at least shows the terrain and units.

Big features of this version are 'sprite curtains' for base layer stuff. Basically, it means when zoomed and tiles are stretched, there will be normally covered pixels preventing black lines from showing. Is this something the game engine really ought to be taking care of, do you think? Ideally yes...

In Stubspace, I used 'land' for 'Space' (As opposed to Deep Space). Planets all exist on the 'mountainous' terrain (essentially hills and mountains), and Suns have very, very high values (essentially tall mountains).
