Running Freeciv-web HTML5 version using Vagrant+VirtualBox
It is now possible to compile and run the Freeciv-web HTML5 version using Vagrant and VirtualBox. This will make it easy for developers to setup a local development environment for Freeciv-web. Please test it out, and give some feedback about how it works for you! Thanks! 8-) The procedure is docume...

Re: New name for Freeciv
... though if "Humanitas Libre" has the meanings I imagine it to have, that would be kind of nice (Remember also current freeciv motto: 'Cause civilization should be free! ) .... going off track and noticing that we no longer display that motto - or rather: only the Xaw-client (the origin...

Re: New name for Freeciv
My point (2) that there must be a plan about getting the work done before we can possibly make positive decisions stands. All active maintainers are so busy with our existing responsibilities (I assume freeciv-web will keep you too busy) that in practice we would need a new volunteer to take active...

Re: New name for Freeciv
I would suggest that the Freeciv maintainers and developers discuss, decide and agree on changing the Freeciv project name, and then ask the community for suggestions about the new name. A good motivation for finding a new name, is to allow the project to move in a new direction away from simply clo...

New name for Freeciv!
I actually hate the way how people read "freeciv" as "just a civ clone" when almost all the development is about features not present in original civ/2, and instead of hardcoded rules we have a very flexible ruleset format of which civ/2 rules are just one possible subset. Chang...

Re: Can you save and resume a multiplayer game in web client
Hi jrfishe1,
Sorry, loading multiplayer games isn't supported in the web client. It should be quite easy to implement, so hopefully this will come in some future version.
Nice to hear that you are playing multiplayer games in the web client with your friends!

Re: Networking error
So this must be the hotspot. I'm using a HTC Desire under Android 4.x Okay, then the problem is either the hotspot functionality of Android 4.x, or your mobile service provider. Are you running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat relase? Perhaps you can report this as a bug to the Android developers? Are...

Re: Networking error
The problem is probably that you are using your phone as a hotspot. What phone are you using? iPhone?
