Yes that sounds about right. I think this along with centre map on combat roughly matches Civ II which was what I was going for, so that combat feels a bit more like an event. The Square Cow wrote:Does this match your experience with your settings, Ozor?

Re: GUI Details
Yes, I'm also talking about the desktop client. 50ms seems fast for the combat animation but I think that is because it is each step (I guess that means each "hit" during combat, of which there will probably be several), rather than the whole animation. The unit movement time however is fo...

Re: GUI Details
The settings I usually use are: Unit movement animation time: 400ms Mapview recentring time: 200ms Combat animation step time: 50ms I can't remember what the defaults are now, but I think I increase unit movement and combat animation time, and leave mapview recentring alone. This gives something sim...

Re: GUI Details
Enabling centre on combat should move the map to any combat that happens on the map that you can see, whether or not it involves your units. Normal movement of units won't move the map though. The cheers are probably from things like cities celebrating and research being completed (either by you or ...

Drop 1) Can you make it so that the "Messages" tab is refilled with the content of the entire current day when a turn is saved and a new session of the game is started again? I think this can be done with the option ec_turns . "ec" stands for event cache, and turns specifies the...

Re: Most Cities Are '0/4'
It sounds like the display of trade routes that city has with other cities (0 or 1 current out of 4 maximum), however I thought it was red for none, yellow for some and green for all.

Re: Updates in Metaserver
All good suggestions and actually I posted about number 2 before here . I think this is the most important as a player connecting to a game that reports more than zero "humans" connected in the metaserver list has no obvious way of telling that there are actually no clients connected to th...

Re: How to win a combat
Another question, How to cease a war via Diplomacy? Open the diplomacy window with that civilization and offer them a cease-fire through the pacts menu. If they won't accept ("this deal wasn't very good for us"), you could try offering them gold or techs in exchange for peace. If they sti...

Re: Effects of United Nations
Is this a new effect in the default ruleset? I don't remember this being here before, unless there were so many wars already happening by this point in my games that I didn't notice the senate blocking anything. Also I think the AI just dissolves the government if it wants to declare war and the sen...

Re: POLL: Which client do you use to play Freeciv?
- GTK+ 2 Why not create a real poll? (It would be nice to have this as a proper phpBB forum poll, but that isn't enabled in the forum. Perhaps one of the forum admins can enable polls? However, this poll is very informal, so I hope that participating in the poll with replies will be good enough.)
