Re: Hotseat?

Hello,

Playing a hotseat game is just like playing a network game, but the two computers are the same (a computer is connected to itself via network). So you start the server once and the client twice, then select "Connect to network game" in both clients.

Re: Scenario: Germany 1871

Hello again, I played two games with v1.3 as the Hanseatic League against cheating AIs. First time I was wiped out by the Austrians, which had over 1000 points by the time others had 350; this time I hope I can survive, but they have 1400 pts while the second (me) has only 500. So maybe you need yet...

Re: Scenario: Germany 1871

Hello,

Having played Bayern for a while, I must say I like your scenario. The rivers make things much more interesting than most built-in maps (like Europe), because one can use boats to attack in-land enemy cities.

Maybe it's a bit late, but shouldn't the circled number be drawn after (ie over) the goto line itself ?

Re: Interesting math exercise

Yup, and world population is zero in 4,000 BC. And I couldn't ever get 350 M inhabitants in the Europe scenario. And travelling to Alpha Centauri is centuries ahead from now.

Re: irrigating cities, plus

Where can I read the rules? The help is too vague. Specificallay, I'mlooking for what I need to grow past the level 12 population. The game tells me that I need an improvement, without saying which one I need. Coloseum? You need a Sewer System. As for the rules, I find the help (the one in the menu...

Re: irrigating cities, plus

Hello, Irrigation: Except the city itself, each irrigated tile gives you +1 food bonus (the green number on the city map). Each road will give you +1 trade (yellow), and mines give you +1 production (white). Irrigation and mines can't be built on all terrains, and can't be combined. "Max Food&q...

Re: Ocean tiles / harbour / republic, cheese.

I haven't tried to take a mid/late game city defended by a stack of alpine troops in this manner yet. Perhaps 6-8 howitzers might be able to do it, depending on the terrain. But howitzers come late in the tech tree, and until then, battleships will be the way to go. So I'd probably need to sacrific...

Re: Ocean tiles / harbour / republic, cheese.

I tried to throw battleships, rockets and bomber planes at his cities (even elite units), but he was restocking them with alpine troops quicker than I could kill them. From my experience, it is almost always possible kill the AIs by : Choosing a city in the periphery (not the capital), preferably n...
