What are your settings for a fun single player game? What do you set so that the AI can build big cities and make a reasonable defense? The AI does, to some extent, know every tile in the map, regardless of fogged or undiscovered status!

I had the problem that a 126-player game was very slow, and fixed it by removing explorers from the starting units.. Otherwise the AI's would form an incredibly complex and ever changing diplomacy matrix between everyone.
