Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Then again Hitler wasn't able to make all the moves of his troops while the defenders were not connected to the war :) I don't understand what you mean, and neither does two other people I asked. Can you rewrite this? For me this discussion seems like a question about if we want sudden death situat...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Because ther is no such thing as "enemy-free terrain" unless it's in your rear. An army just doesn't rush headlong into enemy territory, even if it is semingly free. When an invading force moves along the road, it mostly moves off-road at an off-road speed. Hitler rushed headlong into Den...

In freeciv, you can't pass roads if there are troops on it. I would assume that if there were no vietnamese troops defending vietnam it would be no problem using these roads. If the road is undefended, why shouldn't the enemy be able to use it?Corbeau wrote:ask Americans what use they had from roads in Vietnam.

I can see arguments for restricting rails, even though I'm against it but restricting roads would be terrible!

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Speaking about sudden death situations, there are full of situations where these happens. Often it's because one of the players did something really dumb. For example, if you build rails between your cities and leave inside cities unprotected, you can't really cry about the game being cruel. Si vis ...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
One of the cruel elements could be taken away with success with making team games. This takes away probably the most cruel aspects of the game, betraying an ally and that like. Multiaccounting however doesn't really go "cruel" as in the definition of the article (I wouldn't call it a delib...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Knowing definitions is one thing. It's called "reproductive knowledge". It is the second lowest form of knowledge. (The lowest form is "recognition".) You have mastered it. Congratulations. Now onto the next level: understanding and, after that, perhaps, application. ... What el...

You can also call oranges "gawoozles". This doesn't put an obligation for other people to stop calling them "oranges" or give you the basis to claim that they are not oranges. You should have a litle humility and realise you don't know what you are talking about. You didn't even...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Pungtryne, you can discuss semantics all you want, but as long as you refuse to acknowledge that "peaceful" in "peaceful day" and "peaceful" in "peaceful person" are two pretty different categories and that you can't use one to explain the other, you are simp...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
You're not making sense. Firstly, what is "win"? Secondly, all can't "win" in any sense. Someone will alwys have more cities, territory, population, points and/or will build a spaceship. Win is victory as defined by the game. This is either to first land spaceship on alpha centa...
