Re: The big Freeciv-web feedback and suggestions thread
This was intended more as a workaround than as a fix. I don't know why FF uses that much memory; maybe declaring the variables outside of the loop would help. Maybe one of your savegames is corrupted (as the database syncing may have been interrupted). A much more elegant solution would be not to di...

Re: The big Freeciv-web feedback and suggestions thread
The number of saves will now be messed up[/b], and errors may occur due to the defunct savegame. From what I read in the code, deleted savegames will be still displayed as "undefined (undefined)". Trying to load them won't work, obviously (the client gets stuck). In order to delete specif...

Re: The big Freeciv-web feedback and suggestions thread
So how can we improve the savegame system for Freeciv-web? I assume that continuing to use HTML5 Localstorage for the savegames still is a good idea, compared to the alternatives: (…) 2. storing the savegames on the user's harddrive directly, which would not work on all devices (for example iPhones...

Re: Help us improve the clients' mouse interaction
- tap (on own city): open city dialog - tap (on own unit): open unit dialog (…) - double click: center view There is a technical problem here: there is no way to tell whether a click (=tap) will be followed by another (thus forming a double click). So the first tap would often open the city dialog,...

Re: Help us improve the clients' mouse interaction
The Square Cow: The minimap is too small to be really helpful here, and it is too far from the map. I agree left-clicking the minimap to center the view would make sense. Space+(click)+drag (or drag alone) is indeed used by programs such as Gimp or Krita. I don't think these are well-known shortcuts...

Re: Help us improve the clients' mouse interaction
Hello bard, The goto mode (from the G key) can be exited at any time by pressing ESC, or by hovering the selected unit and releasing the mouse. I think that right clicking having the same effect as left clicking can be considered a bug, so I filled one (https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?23341). I think...

Re: Qt Tileset Change Icon Glitch
Thanks for reporting. This bug may lead to crashes when or after switching tileset. If you see Freeciv-related icons, then there may be no crash.
Should be fixed, see https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?23326

Re: Help us improve the clients' mouse interaction
(My opinion, not anything "official") I think that right clicking should be bound to the information dialog that is currently bound to the middle mouse button. The middle mouse button would be bound to the centring function to match the convention of using the middle mouse button to handle...

Re: Additional Government Types
...imagine that there is someone from Israel playing online and you're current government/nation is for example... fascist Germany; I know it's just a game, but the name of its particular government might be highly offensive/abusive for some people. Imagine the same with 'communist USSR' and someon...
