50h or 200h?
The LT40 ruleset is currently the most complex one used on longturn.org games but there are really no lua scripts or stuff like that. For most parts it's just customized .ruleset files.

Re: Admin(s) behaviour and the Freeciv community in general
The Freeciv 2.6... No plans for migrating to 2.6 have been made yet. However I guess we will take the easiest route, whatever that is. At the moment it feels like converting the current rulesets to 2.6 would be the way to go. However if this is not recommended or there are some issues with it, it mi...

Re: Admin(s) behaviour and the Freeciv community in general
I'm not really commenting on about the rules on promoting LT games elsewhere since that's obviously the decision for other people. However if you do that, please mention that the LT games need an actual native client for playing the games. Some people familiar with the web interface might not know t...

Re: Preventing the player from building something
Yeah, that would do the trick. Then again now when I think about it, maybe a nreq with tech(s) for unit might also work. Need to test that once I have the chance.

A unit immune to bombardment?
The idea is that there should be something you can do to defend against every type of attack. For nukes there is now the small wonder to protect (95% accuracy) one city against nuclear attacks before the age of SDI. There could be also some building sheltering one unit (unit class) against bomber/st...

New game LT40 starting in 2weeks + 1 day
LT40: Something very different with focus on building and allying Then there is LT40. This game is going to be a slightly more experimental one (while not really an experimental game) and while there will be wars the game, it is probably going to have a bit more emphasis on building stuff and reachi...

New game LT39 starts in 2 weeks
LT39: Traditional empire building with focus on military action For those who want to build great empires. For those who want to conquer the world with military might. For those players there will be LT39. It's going to be a more traditional LT game with more familiar ruleset. As with most previous ...

Preventing the player from building something
We are planning a game (LT40) where you could build stuff with a diplomat or with spy. Spies will have a considerably higher cost. However it would be nice the player could be able to build diplomats for a while after the spies have been invented. Because of that a spy can't obsolete diplomat. Would...

Re: How to make sea units work with ZoC?
Thanks for helping with this. Without help it sometimes takes ages to figure out something. I guess it may be hard coded for 2.5 since there are no ZoC settings on the terrain.ruleset file. The same may apply to airlifting units. I wasn't able to find a setting that would allow airlifting missiles a...
