.serv file options - enforce tileset

Is it possible to force the server to use a specific tileset. I browsed through the command line with /show command but could not find any command related for setting a default tileset. It is for my mod, as I will be using a specific tileset for unit and buildings gfx based on amplio so i need diffe...

Hit-points increase of units through effects.ruleset

The name says it all - after researching a tech or after increasing the unit experience level after combat (or just about any other condition as defined in the effects.ruleset), hit-points of the unit can be increased for a specified amount. It would be nice to have this option for modding purposes,...

Re: FreeCiv windows or linux

The installations of apps over the Ubuntu Software Center are usually long, even if I deduce the download time, the progress bar usually slows down nearing the end. I do not now why is it happening, but it does not matter much. However this longer installation period was not present when i installed...

Re: FreeCiv windows or linux

As a linux beginner I tried linux mint, kubuntu, fedora, opensuse and ubuntu. Ubuntu seemed the smoothest and most natural distro. Just to be clear all distros were good and looked very nice but ubuntu had this small "kick" that prevailed for me. The only drawback i noticed in linux was th...

Re: FreeCiv windows or linux

Thanks sveinung for the tips, they did come handy. The first is copy and past. The first clipboard work like on Windows. You must copy and past by hand. The second is automatic. If you mark some text it is added to a second clip board. To past press the center mouse button (often you scroll wheel). ...

Re: Religions!

Do new civilization games (4,5) contain religions? That's a pretty bad question. You should know this. uhhh, I really never installed Civilization IV or V, and I never bothered to read about the games on their website. My last install of commercial civ game was Civlization III. After that I played ...

Re: Religions!

Any ideas/suggestions how the religions would affect game-play? Would some religions limit or boost production/trade/happiness (something else)? Just wanna see what would be behind these religions as there are many options. I like the concept of religions to be implemented in FreeCiv. It would surel...

Re: ipilowe's wishes

Yep, it is too weak in my opinion too. Perhaps it could be a good idea to be able to set the power of Nukes in a ruleset. Maybe it is too complicated to do it that way, don't know I am not a programmer.

Re: FreeCiv windows or linux

Installed Ubuntu yesterday, and tried running FreeCiv. The difference between the windows version is huge. It is much more user friendlier and a lot faster (GUI is faster and loading times are also faster) and the GUI looks better. Now I just need to get comfortable with the OS and learn how linux i...

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended

I have done some research for pixel art which essentially is the method of creating gfx for FreeCiv (it is a method of creating any pixel graphics), but the thing is I am experimenting with some styles I try to develop. So I took the Trading Post building gfx and redone the Yurt. This is what I came...
