Re: Where Are the Specialists?
About disbanding cities, freeciv-web behaves like the other Freeciv clients when it comes to disbanding cities. I'm not sure this should be changed just for freeciv-web. Is there any way at all to disband a city? In the non-web Freeciv clients (or at least the Gtk one), you can configure whether ea...

Re: Saved game Doesn't Load
Bug #20981, I assume.
I can't immediately reproduce the symptom when I load this into 2.3.4 on Linux; I can start fine (turn 0, no cities have been established yet). What version are you trying to load it into?

Re: control under Android
Let's imagine I want to either use my deskptop PC or my tablet to play the same freeciv game. Can I setup a Freeciv server on my deskptop and then access that game either from my tablet or from the PC client ? As cazfi's said, you can't do that with the "freeciv-web" version. However, a &...

Re: No list on metaserver using an iMAC
I don't know if it's related, but the metaserver is failing for me too. I'm using 2.3.4 that I compiled myself on Linux. The webpage shows some 2.3.4 servers. [...] Failed to parse the metaserver data from http://meta.freeciv.org: In secfile_from_input_file() [registry.c:590]: secfile '(anonymous)'...

Re: No list on metaserver using an iMAC
When I start Freeciv(GTK2) I press "Connect to Network Game" and then press "Internet Metaserver". No list of servers appears. When my son was visiting he introduced me to the game and installed it on my MAC so we could play together. Hm. All the prebuilt packages we offer for M...

Re: A Freeciv N00b attempting in vain to make a custom natio
Well... The instructions in doc/README.nations (and wiki/Nations whence it came) really describe the process for someone preparing a patch for submitting for inclusion in our releases. The Makefile.am and POTFILES.in files only exist in the source code tree, you won't find them in your installation....

Re: Modpack installer doesn't work on Windows
Works for me, on Windows and Unix.
On these machines, can you manually view http://download.gna.org/freeciv/modinst/2.3/modpack.list in a browser? That's the initial URL the installer will try to use.
Are you behind a web proxy, or anything like that?

Re: 'Failed looking up Host'
Guess: perhaps the reverse DNS for your IP address is broken? The server you're running sends its idea of its own hostname to the metaserver. It looks like the metaserver does a name->IP DNS lookup, and if the resulting IP address is not the one the metaserver saw the message come from (or lookup fa...

Re: Two new nations: Formosan and Khoisan
Oh, and you'll need SVG versions of the flags. There's some more info about this sort of thing on the wiki (and it may even be up to date).

Re: hex display
This (including the hazard of mismatched server and client settings) is covered in the FAQ.
(Although I just noticed it was out-of-date for 2.3.x, so I updated it.)
