Re: Source code for Freeciv-web running on Freecivweb.org

There seems to be issues remaining even with the new stuff. As far as I know of. I will comment on the details at a later time. Doesn't make sense to comment atm since the current additional restrictions are still there.

freecivweb.org keeping AGPL source code private

Let's keep this short. Again. It's been more than a week since I requested the AGPL licensed source code for freecivweb.org on this thread. http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=91991 That site operates under AGPL license and the operator of the site has replied on the thread. This mea...

Re: Freeciv-web not releasing the source code?

Longturn.net doesn't use Freeciv-web code.

We have our source in a public repo and available to everyone. Keeping open source open and available works best for all mankind.

Re: Seems like Freeciv-web claims it's no longer "open source"

AndreasR, Obviously I was talking about the freecivweb.org the web site and not only about the Freeciv-web project. I'm sorry about the possible confusion. This site is using AGPL licence software and the changes to this code were not made available to those who are requesting it. I believe this kin...

Re: Freeciv-2.6 lifetime

I'm fairly sure longturn.net will be running 2.6 games for some time. My best guess is that even if there would be a transition to new version we would be running 2.6 games for some time after that. Running with the old stable code and ruleset serves those who want to have stability and we have not ...

Re: Freeciv-web not releasing the source code?

The "peace treaty" Lexxie is referring to probably means a random chat on discord with no actual deals or signing whatsoever. After the chat I was removed from the server and no longer have access to it. When asked about it I was told it was kept private or something like that. In short no...

Seems like Freeciv-web claims it's no longer "open source"

This is the "reply" we got from the Fcw repo. https://github.com/Lexxie9952/fcw.org-server/commits/master "About FCW and this repository ----------------------------- FCW is a volunteer effort. We follow the common practice of a cycle of development, beta, testing, and release. Like o...

Longturn Traditional / LT68, real multiplayer

https://longturn.net/game/LT68/ Continents, no teams or at least no big teams. This game is played in 23h turns allowing even the busy adults to play because the moves can be made almost any time the player wants. This game will also use https://longturn.net ruleset called LTT (Longturn Traditional)...

Freeciv-web not releasing the source code?

Let's keep this short. It's great to have more Freeciv based projects and more people playing the game. This was all made possible by all the people contributing to the project. Freeciv has been one of the greatest open source projects out there. However we may have a problem. Freeciv-web operators ...

LT67, islands, only one winner and rough terrain

This one is for those who want to win alone. Score based ranking is possible but the focus is on getting one single winner for this game. https://longturn.net/game/LT67/ Start in Sep 22nd. Ruleset is LTT (Longturn Traditional) that's a heavily modified version of Civ2Civ3. In short this is a familia...
