Re: questions

Arbogast, you're still with XP? It's not the same anymore. Assuming djconklin is on Windows (Temporary internet files kind of points to that direction), here's where they're hiding in my WIn 7 : C:\Users\{myUserName}\AppData\Roaming\.freeciv\saves. No idea where it would be in a Win 8 computer. Not ...

Re: Explored, but Fogged Tiles on Minimap Black

Maybe you should consider updating your set of tools? ;) I would recommend trying either GIMP or Paint.net.

The 50% transparent black might still be too dark for the overlay map. So I made a couple of alternatives. Are you sure this will survive the tools you're using?

Re: Explored, but Fogged Tiles on Minimap Black

Is there a setting to have the explored, but fogged tiles on the map display on the minimap? If your need is just to have those tiles displayed on the minimap then you could go to Game - Options - Local client - Overview tab and uncheck the option Overview fog of war . If you need them to be fogged...

Re: No production or growth?

I suggest you start here: http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Game_Manual

Seriously. You obviously don't know even the basics of the game (no judgment here, just stating a fact).
You'll get them more quickly from the manual than asking here about every detail and waiting for an answer.

Re: Open up City automatically after finished build?

As cazfi said. Still, if you insist having built notifications thrown at your face each turn, you can make the above mentioned messages to be shown in popup dialogs. That way they are nearly impossible to miss. The setting is in exactly the same place as cazfi's directions lead. At least it used to ...

Re: Install new GTK Theme in Windows

Oh, sorry for not explaining it better. The Aero Peek only shows all separate windows of one program as miniatures when you hover the mouse over that program's icon in the toolbar. It is not visible all the time. I was trying to demostrate how to get the right window from background without guessing...

I don't understand this statement. Which horizontal bar are you referring to? Windows taskbar? So hide it if it gets on your way.

What am I missing here? :?

Re: Install new GTK Theme in Windows

Ah, that's a step upwards. I tried that and the only way to make the map or the 'population' windows disappear is to reducing (minimizing) them and then they go into the bar in the bottom of the windows screen. To bring them back, I use 'Alt+Tab' but it's a little of a guess job as they are not nam...
