Re: Isometric Hexagonal Amplio? Ressurecting it or make it a

By luck, I did manage to save all the file attachments from the old forum.freeciv.org just before it died, although with no context (all the posts are missing). If anyone has clues about filenames of interesting stuff, I can try to dig it out. The name would be a-phex or a2phex but I don't think I ...

Re: Isometric Hexagonal Amplio? Ressurecting it or make it a

Something like this? ScreenShot176.jpg ScreenShot178.jpg I have it somewhere downloadable for 2.3 I think. These screenshots are form 2.4 but it is with the development set. I have not made it publishable for that version. And the development set is a mess. If you think there is a request for this I...

Re: Now they have found us :(

Spaming? Here? I haven't noticed anything... This here. Not really spamming in that way, but advertising. Off-topic stuff with a link to a website somewhere in it. A different forum I'm on is visited by spambots all the time, and as far as I can tell, that thread is a spambot's work. Also this one ...

Now they have found us :(

It has been on my mind to ask the admins of this forum about how are you keeping the spammers out...but it just took a while for them to find this site? In another forum that I am administering I set new registrations to be activated by admins. I didn't want to but had no choise. It was a year ago. ...

Re: Default3+ Ruleset

A small note from tileset author's point of view: The new buildings are defined like [building_city_walls_1] name = _("Star Fort") genus = "Improvement" flags = "VisibleByOthers" reqs = { "type", "name", "range" "Tech", "Meta...

Re: All those Walls...

Should one build all three of them or just one? Which one? Don't forget the Great Wall wonder... Great Wall gives +200% defence bonus against Basic Land, Helicopter, Gunpowder Land and Armored Land units. In other words, triples the defense strength of the units in the city. City Walls give +200% d...

Re: Hex tileset needs very large y offsets, problems ensue

If someone is going to do it, they should also correct what is said about is_isometrcic and is_hex in the booleans section . Dear someone / HanduMan, please enlighten us about what's wrong there, preferable by updating the wiki. ; Basic tile sizes: normal_tile_width = 128 normal_tile_height = 34 sm...

Re: Hex tileset needs very large y offsets, problems ensue

Have you tried to define "unit_width" and "unit_height" (defaulting to values derived from "normal_tile_width"/"normal_tile_height") separately? That feature was originally added for supporting units bigger than normal tile height, but maybe it could be used ...

Re: Hex tileset needs very large y offsets, problems ensue

My mistake, sorry. I was automatically thinking about isometric tileset because there were amplio units involved. I remember having some kind of extra white space issues with the city dialog on my tileset but I'm sorry to say that I have completely forgotten how they were solved. Isometric and non-i...

Re: Hex tileset needs very large y offsets, problems ensue

What are the dimensions of your set? What does 128px refer to? Both width and height? The height shoud be much smaller than than the width. For Amplio the ratio is 1:2. And if youre making a hex set then you should define a proper value for hex_side also. I don't remember how to make it 'proper' but...
