Re: Can I get a mousetrap?

HanduMan may be the mythical genie that grants several wishes. If so, then I have a few more involving power, money, beautiful women, and world peace. Tell me which you want to work on first. I'll be happy to curse your next freeciv game with unbreakable world peace. You want patch ...

Re: Hexagon map fix

It seems that your map topology (real topology of the game world) and tileset topology (how things are displayed on screen) do not match. It's unfortunate that current freeciv has no means to warn user about this. While you see haxagons (you have hex tileset), it's the red dot tiles that actually ar...

500 x 250 Earth - That's one of gm1530's scenarios, also installable with freeciv-modpack, right?

Re: FreeCiv windows or linux

While freeciv itself runs practically identical code on both, I think gtk+ that providesus identical interface to both windowing systems works more naturally in linux than in windows - meaning that it needs to do more work on windows to convert things between underlying OS and itself. At least my ex...

Re: 2.4.0 server doesn't start on win xp

Can you start server separately (preferably from dos-prompt so you can see any error messages even if it closes down immediately), and can you connect client to such server ("Connect to Network Game", and select "localhost" as host)

Re: Changes in what a rule set can do

I think there should be action enablers for move and attack, so that we can make turrets: A normal unit that can't fight, but can be transformed into a turret at the target location. The turrent can attack, but not move. Would be nice if something like that would be possible. This is possible with ...

Re: Crosser based Windows snapshot builds

We have discussion about using different gtk-themes with official windows installer builds here: http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=149 I also tested if themes work ok on crosser builds. They do. Themes from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gtk-win/gtk2-themes-2009-09-07-win32_bin.zi...

Many are similar to each other and overall, they are just the freeciv default theme with new colors.

Still without removing gtkrc? Yes, then the freeciv theme "leaks" in to other themes.

Re: Install new GTK Theme in Windows

I hope we get this fixed to 2.4.1, but meanwhile you can work around the problem by simply moving or renaming <freeciv installation dir>\etc\gtk-2.0\gtkrc so that gtk does not find it. That file currently sets Freeciv theme as system wide default theme (and does nothing else, so it's safe to move aw...
