AI behaves like a headless insect - it keeps attacking and attacking no matter of the situation. Even the original Civilization 1 had better diplomacy, with paying a tribute to one's patience, or offering a tribute for ending the war. If the AI sees they are losing, why don't they offer a cease-fir...

presently the AI has trouble doing the hardest stage in the game (Experimental ruleset)

transitioning to 8+ 12+ citysizes, it has to go largepox to grow to 100+ citysize
and build traderoutes

in my present game I'm at future tech 300+, and the ai still hasn't completed the techtree

In at least experimental ruleset you can have an Allied victory, when your alliance owns all cities.

Whatever you do, avoid war early on, it will drag you down centuries, so strong defense only try to diplomatically beat attackers by giving their enemies technology or gold, invest in trade routes even if this is very costly at first You can almost always beat the AI on hard this way, with experiemn...
