Re: Hall of Fame

Freeciv-web now shows an animated .gif of the current gaming session at end-of-game So far for my theory that Freeciv should only support PNG and PNM, and get rid of the libmagick stuff. But maybe the animated GIF creation could be done outside of Freeciv based on per turn PNGs with ffmpeg or avcon...

Very impressive, but the mountains don't look like mountains, or I confuse mountains with tundra. :D

Re: Triremes movement

How could I achieve this if I couldn't port my trireme that one half-tile gap? A half-tile gap on a 64*64 earth map is a huge gap, you can't carry triremes on your shoulders over huge distances. It's also annoying if hostile triremes "walk" from a river tile to an adjacent lake/ocean/rive...

Re: New wish features for multiplayer games

Might be nice if there was a setting that would let the game to post the TOP reports (most advanced, most rich...) more often. Currently it's like every 20 turns + some random additional turns. Would be really nice if the reports could come more often on some games. This is of course not that impor...

Re: Separate Queue for Units and Buildings

It is an inherent flaw of Civlization that units are "built" the same way as buildings, which doesn't really make sense. That flaw is a feature from my POV, you just have to decide what you want, units or the next building or even a wonder. Figuring this out is a major fun factor in Freec...

Re: Event Tokens

This records the latest turn a unit has won a battle. Quick sanity check, if what you suggest boils down to XP (experience points) as in Battle for Wesnoth (among others) instead of random chances to gain a veteran level, I'm very much for XPs. It can't be too hard to implement (=not harder than th...

Let's say 20 years, that's about 20 turns for the purposes of Freeciv, and IMHO, sadly, it's not good enough. But a balloon not only for variant2 could be nice.

Re: Creating web interface for standard Freeciv server

Just a thought... There is a number of people who are playing from computes where they can't install Freeciv If that's an issue with permissions, if they can't install Freeciv on their box they also can't start a web server, or what do you have in mind? On Windows the NSIS installer can in theory (...

Re: Nations mantainer

If y'all want to move away from standardization on 2:3 that's fine by me. But just wanted to make sure it wasn't unintentional. Definitely unintentional, I only cared about valid , the wanted PNG sizes are still documented on the nations page of the Wiki. There is a new recipe subpage explaining ho...

The (better) version on commons has a simple CC BY-SA 3.0 license for the video and no audio at all, so that's covered. The audio on the Wiki is still tagged as "TBD", please holler, if you think that the soundtrack should be removed.
