Re: Single city challenge

Finding a good spot for your one city is the first big task, I usually allow about a dozen turns before giving up. Need specials (esp trade), river is good, ocean for trade access is essential. Once I had an ocean that turned out to be a small land-locked sea, it had one land edge tile, one square w...

Re: MacOSX Playing Error? [Sierra 10.12.6]

This is weird - the "errno=20" means "Not a directory", well duh it's looking for a library, which is a file, not a directory. And it says it did find it! On my machine that library file is there and everything works. But that classic programmer line "it works for me" w...

how to set human name and nation automatically

Now that I've figured out how to get my custom ruleset working, there's another thing I'd like. I always play with the same nation and leader name, and I'd like that to happen when I select my ruleset. My attempt in script.lua is - function set_human_name() human = find.player(0) human.name = "...

Single city challenge

Does anyone besides me play single city challenge games? This was a popular thing back in the day of the original Civ 2. The challenge is to win at hard level while having only one city for the whole game. Obviously you go for a space win :-) (I once did destroy all enemy cities but it was pretty te...

Re: Diplomacy dlog - allow delete an item

Caedo - you are correct, who knew? Hate those secret features. Thanx for filing the tracker. Speaking as a former UI design engineer, it would be better to use the delete key instead of double-clicking, or have a "remove clause" button.

Re: MacOSX Playing Error? [Sierra 10.12.6]

Another fix was required, there are now new versions of the installers. You need to delete the folder
/usr/local/opt/ and re-run the new installer.

Diplomacy dlog - allow delete an item

When you are negotiating in the diplomacy dlog, you can only add new items but not remove them. I'd like to be able to select an offered item (which it looks like you can already do) and press the delete key to remove it. What's frustrating is when you're adding techs to get the AI to agree to give ...

Re: Running FreeCiv on OS X 10.12 (Sierra)

I have found the problem, and there are now fixed versions of the Mac installers on Dropbox. You need to delete the folder /usr/local/opt/libvorbis from your Mac, and re-run the new installer. You will need to use the Mac's Terminal app to delete that folder, and you may need to mess with permission...
