Maybe too late - but here's some images for genetic_lab and hospital that I found. These are "public domain" and so GPLv2+. I like them better, maybe replace the ones in extra_buildings.png?

Sorry I disappeared, had some medical issues that made it difficult to use a computer, but now I'm somewhat back. To DavidN - I'm not surprised it didn't work for you, my version was built on MacOS 11 and you have MacOS 14 and Apple is notorious for no backward compatibility. I have revised the wiki...
