On a Mac, it's also "/home/{user}/.freeciv/saves" , but the finder won't show you folders that start with "." To get around that, launch the terminal app and enter these command lines - cd ~ in -s .freeciv dotfreeciv Now the finder will show you a "folder" named dotfree...

What controls whether a city can build naval units? Is there anything a ruleset can do to control that, or is it hard-coded?
