Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
Here are the graphics done for the ancient period of the nextended mod. They are now officially released under GPL2+ license so anyone else can use them. Credits for each graphic are listed in the ancient.spec file which is attached to this post (it is the .zipped file).

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
You don't need entire unit class (with all the hassle to give it all the correct effects) for this reason (you may otherwise). Veteran systems are defined in unit type resolution, and you can use unit type requirement instead of unit class requirement for the effect - though you then need to give s...

Re: Missing Icons
Yes the icon is free for use, it is my first painting try for the hospital gfx, it will be part of the nextended mod and the devs can use it in their experimental ruleset if they want. nextended mod is released under GPL2 so there should not be any problems with it.

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
Been having lots of duties at work, so development of the mod is delayed. I am currently making the buildings gfx, and i decided to go with 3d models which again takes some more time. Here is some work in progress with the stables: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t6l8nc4AGkA/UoYHq1FVwXI/AAAAAAAAARk/qoL8HB...

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
Uh... Just wondering, why do you need Polytheism for Code of Laws? Doesn't sound logical to me :| It is still work in progress, the middle part of the tech tree is still confusing and i am not satisfied how it looks. There will probably be some changes, but sometimes i will just use chronological o...

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
The current Tech Tree (buildings from ancient era are still missing) for the nextended mod.
You can see that there is a gap in the middle of the tree. The techs there need to be connected differently which is something I will work on during next days.

Re: Civilization V civics - Freeciv
well at least things are moving forward and in my opinion since it is an open source game it develops at a good speed. I am willing to contribute some gfx art if time allows me to. I am far from a pro but with practice while developing the nextended mod maybe I will learn something and eventually be...

Re: Civilization V civics - Freeciv
it is nice to hear it is being planned for some future version. How many developers are currently actively involved in writing code?

Civilization V civics - Freeciv
I have finally read about some concepts in the new Civilization games (IV and V) and find some of the ideas interesting. Especially the "civics" caught my eye and after looking into them the concept of civics is surely a fresh idea for Freeciv too. Anyway here is an picture from the civics...

Re: new FreeCiv mod development - NExtended
Yes i plan that they have a cargo capacity for small land units. The quinquereme is a larger ship, and it would be able to carry horses as well, but the capacity will probably be one "horse" unit. So it will not be able to carry more than one "small unit" either. Freeciv has no ...
