Militarizm - a PBEM Civ-like strategy

Militarizm (rus.: Милитаризм) is a game played by email (PBEM) in which many ideas discussed on this forum as potentially useful for Freeciv have been realized long ago. ⋅ All moves are resoluted simultaneously, after all players email their orders for the current turn to the server. Whic...

Re: [RANT] MP* rulesets are BORING!

This is how a weak player would view rapturing, but those weak players can't produce the shields during the rapture phase to get rapture-relevant wonders up at the correct times. Food is still very important. Corbeau's post was probably influenced by a game without any wonders (MP3), maybe you woul...

Civ2civ3 in 3.1: should we make it closer to Civilization III?

Mostly, I mean the fortifying rules. In civ1 and civ2 rulesets we now can reflect commercial games behaviour: ⋅ Unit in an unwalled city must fortify to get the 1.5x bonus; ⋅ Unit in a walled city gets 3x bonus from walls but no fortifying bonus; ⋅ Fortress also overrid...

Re: Just some my random patches

I was asked to put here some scripts that I've used with the patched client. I can't remember which ones I did and with which version, but here are some to get the idea.

It is not an issue, the problem is that there is no warning/error when City range is used, instead effect is ignored and no points are counted either for city nor player.

Yes, sorry, missed the "no". HRM#874090

Re: 2.6 National_History effect inconsistence

Yes, it's a player-range effect. You can use wonders with range "Player", but otherwise a city can add only to its own "History" and "Performance". Don't know, maybe we could fix it in future releases. But generally you may use these effects, all culture effects are add...

Re: tech not found in combo

It's a report from the function science_report_combo_set_active() that tries to set the active tech from the dropdown menu ("combobox"). It happened that id of the tech you have selected somehow was out of the range (likely, there s less than 138 techs in the standard ruleset). If you can ...

Kill the last citizen with attack on an unwalled city

Purportedly, in CivII there was no such a rule that an unwalled city of size 1 can not be destroyed in the process of destroying its defenders. Moreover, when it disappeared, the remaining stack got lost with it (maybe only of 0def units?). That's a reasonable mode because settling in the no man's l...
