Re: Art required for freeciv proper (2.6)

I made this gfx for the ecclesiastical palace, although I'm not sure if someone who does not know the building would recognize it as a "palace", but I did not find any better source image. I uploaded it to the related gnu issue. Public Domain image by Sonorama (https://commons.wikimedia.or...

My attempt to create a pack of isometric animals. Re: Corbeau's ruleset

I like the idea. I'm also considering to add bombardment ability to artillery and warships in my version of civ2civ3, but for now, I'm testing with lower bombard_rates (up to 4). I have seen that freeciv v3.0 includes bombardment as an unhardcoded unit action, so it will be possible to add requireme...

I have made some animal units with similar style than chess tileset. All the images used as base have license CC0: https://pixabay.com/en/animal-bear-butterfly-deer-forest-1297864/ https://pixabay.com/en/alligator-animal-bird-cat-1297892/ https://pixabay.com/en/tiger-predator-cat-big-cat-felidae-139...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

but the animals do not seem to attack and they hardly move It was because my animal unit had vision_radius_sq = 0. As soon as I gave them some vision, they started to behave as expected. Nice feature, I like how it works. But it is not really suitable to represent storms (as I suggested), because t...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

[*]Each terrain type has just one characteristic animal (or none); so for any given terrain there's one kind of animal that'll spawn there, but a given animal can call multiple terrains home (so if both Hills and Mountains have animal=Mountain Lion, then wild lions will roam inside any contiguous r...

Re: What are your settings for a fun single player game?

If you want a challenging game, place several AI nations in the same team. The default server options will allow them to share the researching pool, so a team with 5 or 6 AIs uses to research faster than me. If you do not want them to research so fast, disable the shared pool.

Re: Changes in what a 3.0 ruleset can do

Since diplomatic agreements aren't actions performed by units, I'd assume that action enablers aren't the way to go for these. I'm still hoping that some time in the future, the actor ↔ target dynamic is extended to effects (or maybe even the entirety of effects and action enablers generalized into...

Re: Changes in what a 3.0 ruleset can do

Thank you for all the info in this topic. There are lots of new features that I'm eager to start testing. One question, is it possible to use action enablers to allow/disallow certain diplomatic agreements? For example, disallow interchange of maps until discovery of map making. Or disallow to creat...

Re: Naval Mines and Landmines

I'm going to add naval mines to my ruleset, as an extra that reduces the hit points of adjacent naval units (at the end of the turn), and can be pillaged by enemy air units. I'll credit the gfx to Pesloco and Fulger. If the author could confirm that the image can be used with GPLv2 license, I think ...
