Re: Wish/priority/fix list

A player should become dead once they no longer have any cities or settlers, and any remaining units should be disbanded. At that point they can no longer really play the game in a meaningful way, and it's silly to have their units cluttering up the game. This is an issue in the Longturn games in pa...

Re: Upgrade Unit Confirmation Dialog

Yes, this is in freeciv-web, PBEM. I should have specified.

I've always upgraded a unit by either pressing SHIFT-U or maybe using the right-click context-menu. It doesn't ever give me a confirmation dialog.

Next time I will try hitting 'd d'. I didn't know about that.

Re: Wish/priority/fix list

Dealing with Idle players in Longturn games: One of the biggest issues is that a lot of players go idle and don't return. I like that new players can join and take over for a long idle player, but that doesn't completely solve the problem since there are still so many idle slots. Cities that have be...

Re: LongTurn support in Freeciv-web

I have a couple questions about death. #1) When is a player DEAD? When they no longer have any cities or settlers? Or when they have no surviving units at all ? Since the units you start with don't require support from a city, it seems like a player could easily end up with just an explorer and a co...

You need to have researched "Construction" before you can build a fort. That confused me at first.

Re: Transforming land issue

I don't think this is a problem. Transforming land is so time consuming that it naturally limits how much you can do. Theoretically, you could convert a glacier to a grassland (glacier->tundra->desert->plains->grassland), but it would take 96 turns.

Upgrade Unit Confirmation Dialog

When you upgrade a unit, it would be nice to see how much it's gonna cost and what unit it will be upgraded to, and the have an option to decide whether you want to do it. As is, it just does the upgrade and then tells you what it cost. E.g. "Upgrade Phalanx to Riflemen for 105 Gold? (( Yeah! )...

Cost to change production within type?

The rules state that switching a city's production from one type (unit, building, wonder) to a different type will cost half of the invested production. E.g. switching from granary (building) to trireme (unit) incurs a penalty. Makes sense to me. Does this mean that there is no penalty for changing ...

Re: Accidentally set timeout

Using the UI on the options page, I can enter the "0" as the value but it doesn't take. It just retains the previously input timeout value. Using the console and entering: /set timeout 0 I get the message "You are not allowed to set timeout values less than 30 seconds". The best ...
