Re: The game became too slow

There is me and 15 AI players. This happened suddenly after my spaceship arrived at Alpha Centaury, so I thought it might be connected. What is happening is that each AI player moves with pauses. It moves few units, then pauses, then moves another few units, and then pauses again. Maybe this descrip...

The game became too slow

I have a game which usually took couple of minutes for the turn to be done, because it is the map of Europe which is large, and a late stage where there are lots of cities and units, and I have set it to alternate moves and focus on combat, because I want to see what AI players are doing, and it was...

Re: The sounds won't work

Oh, I have found the solution! I have used the "sudo apt-get install freeciv-client-gtk freeciv-sound" code before, but it seems that it does not work anymore. I have found a new one. First "sudo apt update", and then "sudo apt install freeciv-sound-standard". Now I hav...

No, I have changed it to "sdl", but I still have no sound.

The sounds won't work

I have reinstalled my Ubuntu 16.04, and installed Freeciv GTK+ 2 version 2.5.3-1, and also installed the sounds from terminal with "sudo apt-get install freeciv-client-gtk freeciv-sound". It worked before, but now when I do this and turn the sounds on, it won't work.

Re: AI is totally lame

Set unit movement time to 0, and mapview recentering time to 0 (in local options -> graphics), in 2.6 or never set also - show automated units to false in local options -> interface. Btw dont let them to get rail and mechs, kill them with horses in ancient era :D In modern era block all entrance to...

Re: AI is totally lame

I wish if AI could be a partner in this game, but that is not likely to happen. I am speaking of the game against computer, and not multiuser, and at Normal level. I don't want to go for higher AI levels, because AI is cheating all the time, and I don't want that to be noticeable too much to piss me...

AI is totally lame

Lol, I wanted my AI ally to attack our mutual enemies, and so I built them a great city, with 70 or more units in it, mostly howitzers, so that they could use railways to attack and conquer enemy cities in the region, but all they did was sending almost all of the units outside of the city for hikin...

Re: Game goals? Why not diplomacy over conquering?

I rather agree. You're essentially saying that instead of killing everyone and ending the game, you have an eternal nation-building game? (As 'winning by diplomacy' would be covered by Allied Victory) Yes, a game of an eternal nation-building. There is no need for forcing the game to an end, everyo...

Game goals? Why not diplomacy over conquering?

Conquering of all other nations seems kind of a lame and destructive goal. I mean, you have built that many cities, and technologies, and everything, and the game must end. Why to bother then? Wouldn't it be more amusing if the game could never end, and also there is no limited number of turns? Why ...
