How to change the location of save files?

My C: drive is a small SSD and I try to minimize storage to it. I installed Freeciv to E: (a flash drive) and the game runs with no problem. However, save files are still stored in C:. Is there a way to tell Freeciv to store save files in a folder in E: instead? I tried computer solutions using Redi...

Re: fun game, till ...

1) You spend 10-12 hours building up a country, exploring territory, researching new techs, etc. Then while at the novice level, another country comes out with the Adam Smith wonder the same turn you are finished with yours. WT ...? [The player should finish first and then the AI's.] 2) You save th...

Re: Tiny type and midget map

One of my tiny type concerns was the city display where the type was so small that I literally had to squint up close to the monitor to see the numbers. Caedo's suggestion of the font tab solves that problem. Changing the "City Label" font from normal 8 to bold 12 makes the city display nu...

Re: Tiny type and midget map

This has been annoying for a while and ought to be fixed. One thing that makes it more prevalent is that Game / Options / Local client / Interface / "Arrange widgets for small displays" is set by default. It sounds like you don't have a small display, so you could uncheck it, save setting...

Re: Tiny type and midget map

For the minimap, the workaround I use is to pop it out of the rest of the GUI (clicking the thin button next to it) and then resize it to fit and move it into one of the bottom corners. Thanks! I had no idea that the thin strips on the left side were buttons! Popping out the map allows me to enlarg...

Tiny type and midget map

I have a 27" monitor, so my display area is huge, but I need to use a magnifying glass to read the tiny type that Freeciv uses on the main display. I have a similar problem with most Windows menus, so maybe Freeciv uses a Windows default type size. If anyone knows a way to increase the size of ...

Re: Freeciv is in RUINS!

Thanks! I tried many times to find a way for workers to clean ruins, but I did not think about pillage instead. Pillage works great, and it is quick too, once you know to look for it.

Freeciv is in RUINS!

The ugly black glob that results when an enemy city is destroyed was "cute" at first, but it is a major nuisance now. Those black globs are not only ugly, but they also prevent one from seeing the features on that tile. If I do not build a new city on top of the same tile, then I am stuck ...

Some may like rolling the dice with unpredictable results, but I prefer to minimize the random "luck" factor and focus on beating the AI: Difficulty set to hard Uncheck Global warming and Nuclear winter (Geological) Huts to 0 (Geological) because: http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Can I turn off city flags?

I should add a note of thanks to Arbogast and cazfi for pointing me in the right direction. I also found that I can easily make the USA city flag smaller by (1) rename usa-large.png to xusa-large.png (so I can restore it later if desired); (2) make a copy of usa.png and rename the copy to usa-large....
