Re: Announcement of an initiative to bring our communities together

This forum could be helpfull in many ways. I have for a while wanted an easy way to ask the various downstreams about if the solutions I work on also covers some of their use cases. You can always ask here. We're watching :) Still no spell checker at the computer I use so sorry about the mistakes. ...

Re: Source code for Freeciv-web running on Freecivweb.org

Yeah, I should've just used your stable release. Sorry. Oh wait, it didn't exist . I think this is wrong: It's a simple matter of going to our last commit made before our last public release, the exact day and hour of which is well known to you. Could both sides publically agree to mark deployment ...

To be honest, I don't know.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look, Louis!

Re: Source code for Freeciv-web running on Freecivweb.org

Can they be in compliance with AGPL if they have their own licence at all? I'm not a lawyer. It has been a while since I read the AGPLv3, copyright law and patent law. This means that what follows most defiantly isn't legal advice and probably not 100% accurate. Adding a Terms of Service (ToS) for ...

Re: Source code for Freeciv-web running on Freecivweb.org

The main problem I see (I don't know if Andreas has more in his mind) is that even though AGPL grants their users rights to the source code, their "repository policy" tries to restrict that (bolding mine): ... FCW is NOT required to do work for, nor release source code to anyone with whom...

Re: Obligatory hard action requirements you want dropped

"Capture units" is an action versus units, as long as it's so we won't be able to capture a transport with a single Diplomat on board if he is not capturable, so I don't see any problem with removing the hard req. I investigated this. Capturing an occupied transport still causes a crash. ...

Re: Changes in what a 3.1 ruleset can do

New action "Unit Make Homeless". See osdn #41622 You can now allow making a unit that has a home city stop having a home city, say depending on a certain wonder. You can already strip abilities from homeless units (or give them new abilities) via action enablers. So a wonder that irrevers...

Re: Changes in what a 3.1 ruleset can do

Lua API: additional effect evaluation functions. See osdn #41746 and osdn #41749 You can now evaluate an effect type against a unit and - optionally - another player for local DiplRel requirements using the new function effects.unit_bonus(unit, other_player). You can evaluate an effect type against...

Re: Changes in what a 3.1 ruleset can do

Ruleset defined effect types. See osdn #41745 4 effect types that does nothing has been added. You can given them meaning from Lua. You can use this to give your Lua script access to information only the requirement system would have had access to before by implementing a boolean effect. You can al...
