Found the font editing option. Made the fonts larger so that they are more readable now. Thanks for responding.

I have a 2560 x 1440 display. I'm using Linux Mint. I don't see any obvious options in the toolbar menu for increasing the scale. This is of concern with text, such as the Demographic Report, where the text is way to small.

From 2.6, in the civ2 ruleset, diplomats can act directly from on board ships (at your request ; gna #23604 ).
