Re: Longturn

Solutions 1. Fixed donation system e.g. 1euros per game. Players are asked to donate or explain why they can't or don't want to pay. 2. Income region variable fee. Depending on the region you are from you may be asked more or less money. E.g. Europe or America would be asked to pay 3 euros per game ...

Re: Longturn

Really weird. On June, 28th, Davide was still bothering sending reminders for the start of GT12. I can't recall any warn, nor anything that could have triggered the decision. AFAIK, everybody was happy with him, and thankful too.

Re: Longturn

Now, when you are talking about donations to greatturn in freeciv proper forums, have you ever donated to this (freeciv) project? There can hardly be any forks like longturn or greatturn if freeciv itself cannot afford servers to run the development. http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Donations (It feel...

Re: Longturn

Civland is dead... Well, R.I.P. What I don't understand is why there was no warning about it. Davide's decision seems a little unilateral. Whatever... But isn't there a way of getting all the information stored in Civland to recuperate/restore it somewhere else? Like Here? There was a lot of good t...

Re: Closing embassies

It could be interesting, but there should be something to limit this.

Re: Human players: All we need is (AI) love

Going against opinion of your own people could result in additional unhappiness. Trade could also being affected by Love. Another option is an angry mob that force you to declare war like the senate force you to not declare war. yep, also. In any case, we should develop an non-Ai-love and tie it to...

Re: Freezing Button (to discourage RTS in LT-style games)

Hmmm, just a thought, but what about a function to make ALL human players move only at the end of the turn? (That is to say, you give orders to your units as per usual, but they do not execute until everyone presses the end turn.) This has been discusse earlier. Yes it is a completely different app...

Re: Financial management

Another great feature is to have peace treaties bound to the correct behaviour of the player with debt. I.E. If the player doesn't pay his yearly amount, the treaty is canceled (or Republics/Democracy are in right to cancel it) This would be good also for other kind of permament agreements, such as ...

Human players: All we need is (AI) love

I was thinking it would be great if the whole diplomacy status between human players could be somewhat tied to AI love. How? People of one nation could love or hate people of other nation and thus influencing peace and war with them. Different forms of government could be much or more tied to opinio...
