Civ2civ3 rebalancing re attack from non-native-tiles

In the classic ruleset, the first land unit that can attack from non-native-tiles is the Marine. So, defenders have ample time to research and build Coastal Defense and Musketeer in their coastal cities before they have to deal with sea-borne attacks. In civ2civ3, the Musketeer can attack from non-n...

Re: QT client version of gtk Intelligence Report

Ignore question one. The information is right in front of you in the Nation tab, at the bottom of the screen, in the middle. Just left-click on the player and you see it.

QT client version of gtk Intelligence Report

I'm just starting out with the qt client (3.0.92-dev (07203e4c3b)) and want to see another player's diplomatic relations. In the gtk client, you could go to Nations and the double-click the other player to get an Intelligence Report. How do you see this stuff in the qt client? Unrelatedly, in the qt...

Re: How does the treasury actually work?

Ok, so if I had around 40 gold in treasury and income per turn was +40, AND I had a building sold "because no money", I was EXTREMELY unlucky? I had a similar problem today, 'cept in my case I had 63 in treasury and +125. So I carefully started authoring an email and collecting the savega...

Re: Multi-shot Diplomats/Explorers in civ2civ3 considered harmful

It's possible that with the default 100/6/pseudo-fractal map and careful use of the Diplomat's double-move that one can still grab all 5 embassies by Turn 100 (without using the Explorer). Turns out that it's trivial. I started a default defaults civ2civ3 game, changing nothing except turning the A...

Re: Multi-shot Diplomats/Explorers in civ2civ3 considered harmful

Another solution: 5) Remove multi-shot embassy-creation from the Explorer. Take him back to single-embassy only, or maybe further back to no embassies at all. In the savegame, my Diplomat only did 4 of the 14 embassies. If the Explorer hadn't done 10 of them, there'd still be some point to an unchan...

Multi-shot Diplomats/Explorers in civ2civ3 considered harmful

I'm aware of the discussion that led to Diplomats and Explorers getting longevity after creating embassies (someone thought that 30 production points was too much to just get an embassy). I initially agreed and have had a lot of fun in civ2civ3 with the starting Explorer and Diplomat. I've changed m...

Re: Worklist purging behaviour changes 2.6.0 -> 2.6.1 (& 3.x)

The appearance of the "postponed" worklist messages: was intentional ( hrm #846514 ) changed between 2.6.0 and 2.6.1, it's not new with 3.x isn't ruleset-specific (so I've moved this topic). Thank you for moving the topic. You should have also changed the subject... which I'll attempt now...

Worklist purging behaviour changes 2.6 -> 3.0 (civ2civ3)

In version 2, if a building (not units - we're only talking about buildings in this message) is in a worklist, has already been built and comes to the front of the queue, then, the building is purged from the worklist, a message telling you this appears in Messages, and the city continues building t...

So it is! I'm now using v3.0.0-alpha3+ (41e42cbc47).
