Re: Making every unit a partisan

Goddamn that some crazy shite. Why we never tried it in our old server? ... Same rules as normal? You'll need to ask Prospero about the old server. Turns out we were playing very much a "house rules" style of the game. Yes, the standard multiplayer ruleset for the Web. Que two friends con...

Making every unit a partisan

What I mean by "making every unit a partisan" is partisan in the historical WWII sense, not the sense of the in-game Partisan unit. Hear me out: It's kind of a shame that when a city is conquered, all of the units it supports die. It would be much more interesting if there there was a rand...

Re: Middle-Earth multiplayer scenario

An overdue reply to everyone. The life of an adjunct professor is ... not rich with time. :D Re: XYZ ts actually in the Scenario Collection link above. Its the third: http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=809#p4670 I feel like Bilbo in the cave of treasures! If its just a map I actuall...

Re: Middle-Earth multiplayer scenario

(Making this a separate thread within the thread...) As for the map: Maybe you can find a program that can give you a template for the map. I'll look! Btw, have you tested the Game of Thrones map called "Games of Freeciv"? No, where is this map hiding? Googling "Games of Freeciv"...

Re: Middle-Earth multiplayer scenario

You may want to reduce the science completely. The right feel of LOTR is a scientific swamp. It's static and basically nothing changes in that regard. You're right. We could simply have all players start on the fifth column of tech and immediately cap it. Also, we might want to consider making a sh...

Middle-Earth multiplayer scenario

Another post from me (seems I'm the squeaky wheel). I've gathered that some time ago there was a Europe scenario for multiplayer and that people had great fun with it. Would anyone be interested in a Middle-Earth scenario from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings ? There actually already is a Middle-Earth ma...

Defence against bribery?

Another quick question: in standard multiplayer ruleset, is there any defence against bribery of units by diplomats/spies? Thanks! (I'm asking many questions because, well, in addition to being a chatty person, my friends and I played on a private server and our game designer had a lot of "hous...

Re: Freeciv shadow edition

Would have almost made sense if it had been from Fuzzydunlop, ruler of the Werewolves. Haha yes it would have been. I don't know what caused it, but if you liked it, just remove LAYER_TERRAIN1 handling from 2dcanvas/tilespec.js:fill_sprite_array. Or set terrains[x].graphic_str to an inexistent grap...
