Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
Thanks, this is good to know. I updated the wiki page about Requirements so this is now documented. Agree it would be nice to have something better, maybe it's worth filing an enhancement request? How about a new requirement "MaxCombatUnitsOnTile", which is same as "MaxUnitsOnTile&quo...

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
Turning this thread back to the original topic of Simulation ruleset - I've been looking into the details of the stack defense penalty implementation in effects.ruleset, and have a question about the "MaxUnitsOnTile" req. I assume that air units with the "DoesntOccupyTile" unit c...

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
That discussion was in this thread http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=91837 I have just noticed one problem with the canals.zip attachment I posted earlier - the effect I added in effects.ruleset won't do what I intended. What I wanted was to give naval units in a canal a defense pe...

Re: build settlers only if city size is big enough?
The longturn ruleset changes the pop_cost to 2, which prevents cities with size <2 from making Settlers. This way, the number of tiles worked in the original city are reduced by 2, equal to the number of tiles worked in a newly founded city. This also discourages infinite city sprawl strategy. If a ...

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
Here's stuff to implement canals, zipped up. In terrain.ruleset there's 2 extras - Waterways and Canals. Waterways are for early, require Engineering and can accommodate smaller sea vessels, Canals are for later, require Industrialization and can accommodate all sea vessels. My unit classes are diff...

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
I'm just interested in seeing what ideas I'd like to recycle into the custom ruleset I'm working on. I particularly like the Tribal govt, the increased bombarders, the Communism Five Year Plan wonders, the reversed Sci/Tax/Lux rates, and new buildings City Hall & Port Terminal. I have figured ou...

Re: AI is useless with islands
I think you mean 2.6.5 version. The string "...Now make it worth my letting you live, or be crushed." is in the source file .../ai/default/daidiplomacy.c and you could in theory edit it to something you like better and rebuild the app. The code fragment looks like this if (wants_ceasefire)...

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
Another question - SIM26 & SIM30 have a bunch of new buildings in buildings.ruleset, where can I get the needed "buildings-large.spec"/"buildings.spec" files and the graphics files?

Re: "Simulation" ruleset - WORK IN PROGRESS
Discovered that the github mentioned on the "Simulation Ruleset" wiki page also can lead you to SIM26 and SIM30 as well as SIM25. The SIM26 appears to be intended for running with Freeciv-2.6.x and SIM25 with Freeciv-2.5.x (and SIM30 with Freeciv-3.0.x). This explains the problem i reporte...
