Someone has gotten access to my games and sold off lots of things and disbanded units. Is it possible to look into it?
"Congratulations" to whoever did that, you have "won". All my games seems affected.
I'm probably just going to quit but we'll see.

Re: List of multiaccounters
I see that my name is mentioned here, so I encourage whoever to inspect savegame to see how I got my cities. I had practically no active neighbours, therefore I had such a good start. The one active neighbour I had didn't protect his cities even, so I could just destroy them with warriors. It's not ...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
pungtryne, what about the real time aspect of restrictinfra? In real life the defender defends and moves the troops at the same time as the enemy. Going past several cities, like on a game witout restrictinfra, is ntt really possible. And even if moving past cities would be possible, in real world ...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
This is your personal view. I don't know how many Longturn games you have played, but people who have played more than you and me combined say that "no restrictinfra" is a sudden death situation after which the victim doesn't want to play anymore. And no, it's not about "not being du...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
"No military units" in Civ doesn't correspond to "no military units" in reality. Civ is an approximation. You don't operate every pipeline to every household and you don't organise units such as territorial defence or militia or first echelon of army reserve or national guard or...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Yes, you'd be surprised what a well-placed pitchfork can do to an armoured vehicle. I remember clearly when tanks running down Yugoslavian roads, all the farmers came running to stab it with pitchforks. Oh, wait, did I just make that up because I like to argue? And my post isn't self-standing, I wa...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
Warriors are not "men with clubs". They are a unit of designated professionals that have no other jobs than to fight. "Men with clubs" are people working the fields around the city. Which is exactly why an enemy unit can't move through that kind of land unopposed even if there a...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
In Longturn - and Civ in general - hit and run is not possible due to simplified movement system. Once you hit, you can't run and you can't hit tactically to slow down (and inflict and receive minimal losses), only full-on, to destroy. So, since this strategy is completely disabled, something needs...

Re: Ideas for better online game experience
And here you mention realism but, again, you obviously don't know how war works, what "units" mean in Civ and how is real combat actually approximated and symbolised in Civ. Again, very, very simple: in combat circumstances a unit never moves down the road (or especially rail) by normal r...
