Re: Made my own version of Sextant

Then I found Sextant, which looked as though somebody said "Trident was great! What if I made it 2x as big?" (No offense GriffonSpade, you do great work!) That's /exactly/ what I was thinking. :) Back in an older version of Freeciv there was BigTrident or whatever, but that just had stret...

Re: Another form of government: oligarchy?

Master branch has requirement vectors for policies (multipliers). This makes it possible for the ruleset author to introduce policies that player can adjust only when specific tech, like government enabling techs, is known. There's plans to improve support for boolean (on/off) policies. True, but t...

Re: Nation Class

i agree with your thoughts, being a coder in my previous jobs. :geek: Also, I think it would be easier for non-technical folks to create new nations using objects, and changing only what is needed from the baseline. But I have never developed in C or one of its variants so I have no idea if the Fre...

Re: Another form of government: oligarchy?

In my view, Civ already has all the government combinations it can take. The problem is that in the game you an have only discrete cases of governments, either-or, while in reality every government has elements of various systems and the whatever is in power in a country is a combination of many as...

Re: Another form of government: oligarchy?

Listening to one of my favorite podcasts during my commute (Tides of History), the author mentions the form of government for the northern Italian cities just before the Black Plague arrives, as being a oligarchies, where each city is dominated by several families. The cities he mentioned were Flor...

Re: another type of relationship between two countries

In Freeciv we have the various types of independent or equal relationships between two countries: war, cease fire, armistice, peace, or alliance. But what about a "vassal state" type of relationship https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vassal_state . More common names are (according to wikipedia...

Re: AmplioHexBig 2.6

This is an update for the grid.png again. The prior version suffered from an improper/failed update locally.

Re: Horizontal Border Bar isohex offset bug?

Alright, false alarm. Spent about a half hour and got this straightened out. This was caused by an improper/failed update of the grid.png in one of the directories to match the other.

Re: Cimpletoon grafics

Just to clarify, you made these and are releasing them under which license? CC-0 is public domain, GPL2+ can only be used in releases by others with GPL2+ license also, and I can't remember any of the others.

Re: AmplioHexBig 2.6

Some minor aesthetic updates for Hexemplio 2.6.
